What we publish
KhabarWire explains news about Pakistan, its region and selected world events: what happened, why it matters, what is verified and what remains uncertain. Articles are dated snapshots, not live trackers. We do not publish round-ups, sponsored content or opinion presented as news, and we never present medical, legal or financial information as personal advice.
Our articles are syntheses of published material, not eyewitness reporting. We do not claim to have been present at events we did not attend.
Sourcing and verification
Each current news article is built from at least two sources from different organisations, read in full rather than from search snippets. We prefer primary records — official statements, court documents, regulator filings, government data and official results — and support them with established wire services (such as Reuters, AP and AFP) and newspapers of record (such as Dawn, Geo News, The News International, Express Tribune and BBC News).
We do not cite social-media posts, personal blogs, Substack or Medium newsletters, video descriptions, content farms, AI-generated news round-ups or Wikipedia. If a story is only supported by sources like these, we treat it as unverified and do not publish it.
- Disputed, preliminary or fast-changing claims are attributed in the sentence to whoever made them — governments, the military, police, political parties or armed groups.
- When sources give different figures we show the disagreement and its timing rather than choosing the larger number.
- Quotations are short and exact; everything else is paraphrased in our own words.
- Inference, estimates, archival context and unknowns are labelled as such.
Archive articles. Our archive of events from earlier in 2026 was written after the fact to give readers a complete record. These shorter reports may rest on a single report from a Pakistani news outlet rather than the multi-source standard above, and they keep the calendar date of the events they describe.
Bylines and accountability
Every article carries the name of a KhabarWire correspondent, linked to a profile describing their beat and listing their articles. Articles published before 21 October 2026 were assigned to the correspondent now responsible for their beat. Usman Tariq, Managing Editor, is responsible for these standards across the publication. The full team is listed on our About page.
Images
Current news articles only use images whose licence permits reuse — public-domain and Creative Commons files, and official media marked reusable — and credit the creator and licence in each caption. File and archival images are labelled as such and never presented as depicting the event in the story. If you hold the rights to an image on KhabarWire and object to its use, email us and we will review it promptly.
Corrections and updates
If we get something wrong, we fix it. Email contact@khabarwire.com with the article’s address, the passage you believe is wrong and the evidence for a correction. Substantive corrections are assessed against the cited record. When an article is materially changed, its “Updated” date changes and the correction is noted in the article.
Independence
