Reporting snapshot · 8 October 2026 (Asia/Karachi). The awards were presented at the ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit 2026 in Jakarta on 6 October. The figures in this article — 11 categories and the named Pakistani winners — come from P@SHA as carried by Geo News on 8 October, with the ASOCIO programme and the Daily Pakistan account of the Digital Government Award used as cross-checks. The full winners list on the ASOCIO website lists nominees by category rather than naming single awardees, so the per-organisation credit here rests on P@SHA's read-out; the broader P@SHA delegation count and the event itself are independently confirmed. The article was prepared without travel to Jakarta.
What happened in Jakarta
Eleven Pakistani organisations received recognition at the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO) Digital and AI Awards 2026, the trade event held alongside the 5–7 October Digital and AI Summit at the Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue in the Indonesian capital, Geo News reported on 8 October, citing the Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT and ITES (P@SHA).
The award categories covered digital government, talent development, global business services and a string of applied artificial-intelligence fields — cybersecurity, public-good applications, education, healthcare, smart agriculture, financial services, workforce and future skills, and manufacturing and supply chain.
The ceremony on 6 October was the public climax of a process that began when ASOCIO opened the awards for nominations on 1 June 2026 and published the nominee shortlists in early September, according to the ASOCIO highlights page. The Jakarta summit itself drew representatives from 24 economies under the theme of accelerating digital transformation and AI governance across Asia-Oceania.
What P@SHA says it won
In its post-event statement, P@SHA — Pakistan’s apex IT and IT-enabled services trade body — said the 11 categories produced 11 Pakistani winners. The Geo News account lists each organisation and category, drawing on the association’s readout:
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) — Digital Government Award
- REMIRE — Talent Development Award
- Symmetry Group Limited — Global Business Service Award
- SECUREBEANS — AI in Cybersecurity Award
- PlanetBeyond Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. — AI for Public Good Award
- Centre for Advanced Research in Engineering (CARE) — AI in Education Award
- DxVision AI — AI in Healthcare Award
- Sybrid (Pvt.) Ltd. — AI in Smart Agriculture Award
- Unikrew Solutions (Private) Limited — AI in Financial Services Award
- Geekinn (Private) Limited — AI in Workforce and Future Skills Award
- SMART IS (Private) Limited — AI in Manufacturing and Supply Chain Award
The P@SHA readout frames the haul as evidence of breadth across digital-government services, talent development, business services and applied AI categories.
Where the P@SHA list fits the ASOCIO record
The ASOCIO AI Awards page lists the 2026 nominee shortlists by category. Eight Pakistani organisations are named on those shortlists — the same eight P@SHA identifies as AI category winners — alongside nominees from other Asia-Oceania economies including Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Nepal, according to the ASOCIO AI Awards nominee page.
The Digital Government, Talent Development and Global Business Service Awards sit on the broader ASOCIO Digital Awards page, whose 2026 nominee lists have not been publicly posted at the time of writing. The KPITB award is independently confirmed by Daily Pakistan English News, which reported on 7 October that the provincial board “got the ASOCIO Digital Government Award 2026 in Jakarta”, formally presented on 6 October at the Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue. The KPITB win is tied by Daily Pakistan to KP’s Digital KP Vision 2030 and the Chief Minister’s Good Governance Roadmap.
The delegation and the leaders behind it
P@SHA’s delegation in Jakarta was led by Chairman Dr Shoab A. Khan. Two other P@SHA officials — Muhammad Zohaib Khan, a Central Executive Committee member and an ASOCIO vice chairman, and Zain Tariq, manager of special initiatives — collected three trophies in person on behalf of Symmetry Group, SECUREBEANS and Geekinn.
Zohaib Khan’s position as an ASOCIO vice chairman reflects a longer-running role for Pakistan inside the federation. Pakistan has been an ASOCIO member economy through P@SHA, whose logo sits on the ASOCIO member-economies page.
Why the ASOCIO recognition matters
The ASOCIO Awards sit at the apex of the regional recognition architecture for ICT industry associations spanning Asia and Oceania — 24 member economies whose national trade bodies nominate other categories. The Digital and AI programme, in ASOCIO’s own framing, recognises organisations “harnessing Artificial Intelligence to strengthen digital resilience, transform industries, and create measurable impact for business, government, and society”.
Pakistan’s 11 categories mean at least one winner in every AI vertical on the 2026 shortlist. The applied-AI vertical spread is wider than the P@SHA list alone suggests: SECUREBEANS in cybersecurity, CARE in education, DxVision AI in healthcare, Sybrid in agriculture, Unikrew Solutions in financial services, Geekinn in workforce skills, and SMART IS in manufacturing all sit in sectors the Pakistani government has identified as priority areas for technology exports and digital-public-service delivery.
For the IT-export push, the Jakarta ceremony adds to a string of recent Pakistani milestones that have placed the sector in the international spotlight. The Pakistan Pavilion at AI Everything Global 2026 in Abu Dhabi was inaugurated on 6 October by Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE, with officials using the event to announce that IT exports to the UAE had risen 42% to $536 million in FY26, as KhabarWire reported.
The same applied-AI framing has informed the federal IT minister’s recent industry outreach. On 28 September, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja asked Huawei Pakistan to consider opening an R&D centre in the country, citing the company’s Global Service Centre in Islamabad as evidence that Pakistani engineers already deliver high-value digital services to international clients, as KhabarWire reported.
What is still uncertain
Three things remain open. First, the ASOCIO website’s Digital Awards page lists 2025 nominee lists rather than 2026 winners at the time of writing, so the precise number of awardees per category — whether ASOCIO followed a single-winner, multi-winner or finalist-only structure for 2026 — is not on the public record. Second, P@SHA’s category-by-category read-out is the basis for the per-organisation wins listed in this piece; ASOCIO has yet to publish a 2026 winners list on its own pages. Third, the financial and contractual impact on each of the 11 organisations — new contracts, new partnerships or new hiring — has not been disclosed; the Jakarta ceremony was an industry-recognition event, not a commercial-deal announcement.
